Dorothy Trumble, 91, of Donovan, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

 

She was born on March 15, 1926 in Piper City, Illinois, the daughter of Samuel Blevins and Sarah (Carmichael) Blevins.

 

Dorothy married Jesse Trumble on January 1, 1945 in Watseka.

 

Dorothy was a home maker. She was also a member of the Donovan Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and canning.

 

Surviving Mrs. Trumble is one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Steven Wischmeyer of Indianapolis, Indiana; one sister, Margaret Maxwell of Watseka, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Jesse; two brothers, Dan and John; and three sisters, Anna-Mae, Ruth, and Mary.

 

A Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 1:00 pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Pastor Elaine Daughtery  will officiate.

 

Burial will follow at Prairie Dell Cemetery in Iroquois, IL.

Dorothy E. Barlow, 88, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017.


She was born on July 2, 1929 in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Mike Prehara and Mary (Dietz) Prehara.


Dorothy married Clarence Barlow on November 7, 1947.


She was a Member of the IWQIU Union. Dorothy also enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and crocheting.


Surviving Mrs. Barlow is her sons and daughter-in-laws, Larry and Carla Barlow of Onarga, IL, Michael and Shirley Barlow of Goreville, IL; daughters and sons-in-laws, Janice and Michael Bonnell of Bourbonnais, IL, Deborah Barlow of Kankakee, IL, Linda and Michael Ryan of Bourbonnais, IL and Alan Hobl of Watseka; sister-in-law, Virginia Cotter of McCleansboro, IL; grandchildren, Alicia and Matt Laffoon, Jacob Barlow, Ellyn and Bob Harroun, Melissa and Jimmy Rix, Donnie and Charlotte Smoot, Todd and Lisa Oster, Bill and Cris Oster, Robert Humphrey Jr. (Dawn Heideman), Melinda and Sonny Bernal, Chad and Ramie Kolitwenzew, Katie and Troy Graves, and Mackenzie Ryan; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Madisyn Laffoon, Brody and Evan Smoot, Parker and Henry Harroun, Roman and Jamie Boisvert, Tyler Humphrey, Nolan and Maddi Rix, TJ and Cam Eades, Carley and Kennedy Oster, Justin Cross, Logan Oster, Lucas, Isaiah, and Alexis Bernal, Owen and Layne Kolitwenzew, and Sophia and Penelope Graves; and many nieces and nephews.


She is also preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; daughter, Carolyn Oster; and siblings, Cecelia Prehara, Anna Prehara, Mary Huffstutler, Martha Moore, Leo Prehara, John Prehara, and Hazel Prehara.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 4-8pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

 

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00 am, at St. Edmund’s Catholic Church in Watseka, with Father Michael Powell officiating.


Burial will follow on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 am, at Douglass Cemetery in Eldorado, Illinois.

Eileen Taylor - 79

Eileen Taylor, age 79, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017, with her family by her side in rural Kentland, Indiana.  

Eileen was born on Sunday, December 5, 1937 in Brook, Indiana.   She married Allen O. Taylor on March 24, 1956.   Allen passed away on November 4, 2005.  

Eileen graduated from Brook High School in 1955.   She was a farm wife and enjoyed making cakes.   She was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Iroquois Methodist Church in Iroquois, Eastern Star, a long time leader of the Iroquois Concord Booster 4-H Club.  

Mrs. Taylor is survived by three daughter and son in laws:   Dottie (Dennis) Waldron of Palm Coast, Florida; Anita (John) Owens of Watseka, Illinois and Tammie Dorsch of Beaverville, Illinois.   Grandchildren: Laticia Andruch of Crown Point, Indiana;  Andrew Taylor of Iroquois;  Bailey and Ty Dorsch of Beaverville;  Kayin, Jacob and Adam Owens of Watseka.  Many other honorary children and grandchildren.   She was proceeded in death by her husband, Allen and brother, James Griffin.  

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, Illinois.    

Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00am at the Iroquois Methodist Church in Iroquois.   Memorial may be made to family wishes. 

Burial will be in the Morris Chapel Cemetery in Iroquois, Illinois.               

Jeffrey L Harms - 65

 Jeffrey L. Harms, age 65, passed Monday, September 25, 2017, with his family by his side in rural Watseka, Illinois.   A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford, Illinois.   Pastor Karl Gibbs officiating.

Jeff was born on Friday, February 15, 1952, in Watseka, Illinois to Dennis and Helen (Ahlden) Harms.  He married Pamela (West) Harms on June 26, 1970 in Watseka, Illinois.    

Jeff graduated from Crescent-Iroquois High School, was an avid hunter and a farmer.  He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford, Illinois.   Jeff enjoyed reading the Bible and sharing God’s word.  He made many trips to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and was a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent.      

Mr. Harms is survived by his wife, Pamela; three sons – Jon (Amy) Harms of Watseka, Josh (Gretchen) Harms of Milford and Jake (Olivia) Harms of Milford.   Three brothers – David (Joyce) Harms of Vancouver, Washington; Keith (Jannette) Harms of Delavan, Wisconsin and Kevin (Tina) Harms of Paxton, Illinois.   Grandchildren – Paul, Molly, Dorothy, Hannah, Ruth, Benjamin and Josiah Harms.  Jeff was also survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his father-in-law, Ben (Buzz) West.         

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Danville Women’s Care Clinic, National Rifle Association and Iroquois Memorial Hospice. 

Gaylord (Gene) Osterhous - 81

Gaylord (Gene) Osterhous, age 81, of Woodland, Illinois passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017.   He was born in Watseka on October 25, 1935, the son of Peter and Matilda (Hurling) Osterhous.  Gene married Gayle Ifland on June 12, 1956 in Watseka, Illinois.   He was a farmer and retired after 25 years as pest control technician at Shapiro Development Center, formerly known as Kankakee State Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois.   Gene was a 50 year member of the Illinois State Stock Horse Association.   He enjoyed raising horses, horseback riding, camping and spending time with his family.   Survivors are two sons – Robert (Debbie) Osterhous and Danny (Melanie) Osterhous; Grandchildren – Ashley (Troy) Odgers, Kayla (Andy) Manos, Mindi (Andy) Walton and Jessica (AJ) Kingdon; Great-grandchildren – Corbin Walton and Owen Kingdon.  He was proceeded in death by his wife, Gayle and his sister June Rudisill.   Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, Illinois. Joyce E. Dillon - 83

Joyce was a woman of strength, courage, and faith, devoted to her family and friends.   A long- time member of Faith Lutheran Church, she was active in the congregation and generous with her time as a volunteer.   She loved holidays and family celebrations and enjoyed creative pursuits like needlework, sewing, and baking.    She embodied the qualities of a Central IL farm girl of her times – independent, capable, and resilient and always ready to help others.  

Survived by Marvin Dillon, her husband of 62 years, Joyce had three daughters – Diana (John) Salditt; Julie (Brent) LaReau; and Connie (Todd) Breeling.    She had six grandchildren (Melissa, Ami, and Kyle Daniels and Christopher, Ryan, and Samantha Breeling) and five great grandchildren (Rileigh, Sharlee, Izabelle, Blade, and Addisyn).    Family members who preceded her in death but remained close in her heart include her parents, Charles and Pearl Fink; sister (Wilma Claypool); brothers (Glen, Marvin and Paul Fink); and special aunt (Eva Smith).

Her family is forever grateful for the joy and light she brought to our lives and for the kindness of her caregivers.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 5pm until 7pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, IL.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11:00 am, at Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka, IL.  A one-hour visitation will occur prior to the services.

Burial will take place at 2:00pm, at Ridgeland Cemetery in Thawville, IL.

David Lee Hall, 71, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017. He was born on August 20, 1946 in Watseka, the son of Varnum Hall and Leona (Milburn) Hall. David married Carolyn “Sue” Wiggs on February 24, 1973 at Faith Lutheran Church. Mr. Hall served in the ARMY for three years. He was a Laborer for the Union, specifically Toby’s Construction working on Roads and Bridges. He enjoyed playing baseball as a child. In his free time he liked to garden, fish, and fix stuff. David was an avid sports fan, particularly the BEARS and Illini. To most he was known as the neighborhood “grandpa” or “father”. Surviving Mr. Hall is his wife, Carolyn Hall of Watseka; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric David and Amanda Hall of Warner Robins, GA; one daughter, Jamie Hall of Lawrenceville, GA; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Amanda Hall of Martinton; grandchildren, Celeste Davis, Schuyler Davis, Cameron Hall, Lani Kao, and London Hall; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents; and one brother, Elvin Hall. A Gathering of Friends will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5pm to 6pm, at Baier Funeral Home. Verlyn G. Webster “Web”, 87, of Iroquois, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017. He was born on June 26, 1930, the son of Lloyd and Ferne Garrett. Verlyn married Wyona Varbounker on October 8, 1950 at the Donovan United Methodist Church. Verlyn was a Union Electrician for the IBEW local 176. He served in the NAVY, specifically during the Korean War on the USS Cone (DD-866). Verlyn was also a member of the Watseka VFW as well as the Watseka American Legion Post #23, and the car club “Strictly Street Rods”. During free time he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and street rods. Surviving Mr. Webster are two sons and daughter-in-law, David Webster of Martinton, and Jeffrey and Michele of Martinton; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Steven Rhoades of Watseka; grandchildren, Scott and Michele Webster, Kim and Jeff Bramer, Kerri Yates, Stephanie and Eric Evans, and Neil Rhoades; great-grandchildren, Logan, Noah, and Owen Bramer; Chloe and Emma Yates; Tiffany Webster, and Beckett Evans; and several nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by both parents; wife, Wyona; one sister; two step-brothers; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Webster; and one great grandson, Alexander Bramer. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10am to 2pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Regina Horner, 65, of Sheldon, IL, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017.

 

She was born on July 11, 1952 in Watseka, the daughter of Kenneth C. Horner and Annabee (Schroeder) Horner.

 

Regina worked for Moments Remembered. She enjoyed being with family, playing cards, taking car rides, and watching I Love Lucy.

 

Surviving Ms. Horner is one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Dan Henson of Watseka; one sister-in-law, Paula Horner of Watseka; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Horner of Cissna Park; nieces and nephews, Debbie Rudisill, Christopher Horner, Rachel Farris Brose, Nathan Farris, Martin Horner, and Mason Horner; and many special friends from ABRA and The ARC of Iroquois County.

 

She is also preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Kenneth D. Horner; and one nephew, Curtis “Bub” Riston II.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4-7pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

Andrew Tincher, 32, of Stockland, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. He was born on September 1, 1984 in Watseka, IL, the son of Marvin and Tami (Focken) Tincher. Andrew worked construction. In his free time he enjoyed playing baseball with his boys and fishing. Surviving Mr. Tincher are his parents, Marvin and Tami Tincher; one son, Cory Tincher; fiancé Dustina Stringham; maternal grandfather, Fred Focken; paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Tincher; sisters, Amber Tincher and Ashely Tincher step-sons, Jaxson Cannon, Cayden and Jayden Gibson; niece and nephews, Scott Neff, Robbi Tincher, and Marleigh B-Tincher. He is also preceded in death by his maternal grandma, Pearl Focken. A Gathering of friends will take place on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm, at Centennial Christian Church in Watseka. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka, IL. Memorials in Mr. Tincher’s name can be made to the family. Cremation Rites have been made accordingly.
