Lowell Junior Swigart - 899/2/1926 - 7/1/2016
Lowell Junior Swigart, long-time resident of Watseka, died July 1, 2016, at the age of 89 at Watseka Health Care Center. Born September 2, 1926 in Bloomington, Illinois, Lowell was the son of Lowell M. Swigart and Laurabelle (Holmes) Swigart. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Georgia Norris Swigart, and both parents. He is survived by his brother, Joseph Swigart of Watseka; sister Sally Anderson of Missouri; son Paul Swigart of Hawaii; daughters Mary Leen of New Mexico and Martha Hill of Indiana; and grandchildren Noah Leen of Oregon and Anastasia Hill of Wyoming. Mr. Swigart served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was considered a master fisherman ad an avid hunter by those who knew him. He owned his own business delivering oil products in the Watseka area for many years. As a skilled amateur photographer, Mr. Swigart captured many special moments and passed along his love of the outdoors and eye for detail to future generations. He loved dogs and raised several for sporting purposes and companionship over the years. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he took pride in being able to share his knowledge, tools, and pickup truck with family and friends in need. Visitation for Mr. Swigart will be held from 1 to 3 pm on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, with a memorial service to following at 3:00 p.m., also at Baier Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Hughes officiating. Cecil Eades, 77, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. He was born on May 13, 1939 in Lexington, IL, the son of Cecil Henry Eades and Fern (Smith) Eades. Mr. Cecil Eades married Sharon Terry on April 22, 1989. Cecil was a mechanic for Ford for 38 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 23 and a past member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Mr. Eades served in the ARMY. He enjoyed reading, walking, yard work, and motorcycling. Surviving Mr. Eades is his wife, Sharon Eades of Watseka; two sons and daughter-in-law’s, Shane and Alonna Eades of Watseka and Chad and Cheryl Eades of Lafayette, IN; three sister-in-law’s, Carol Eades of Thomasville, GA, Mardel Eades of Ashkum, and Penny Eades of Hudson, FL; one sister and brother-in-law’s, Gloria and Dan Turpin of Otterbein, IN, Greg Geising of Fayettville, TN, and Frank Kosma Simpsonville, SC; one step-son and step-daughter-in-law, James and Iva Hogue of Pheonix, AZ; four grandchildren, Taylor Eades, Cameron Eades, Shelby Eades, and Aspen Eades; two step-grandchildren, Connor Hogue and Iva Hogue; many nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by both parents; three brothers, Warren, Ray, and Eddie Eades; and two sisters, Joyce Kosma, and Mildred Geising. Eldon Clarence Faupel, 77, of Donovan, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016. He was born on August 10, 1938 at Earl Park, Indiana, the son of Clarence Faupel and Dorothy (Hanna) Faupel. Eldon married Linda Tuttle on January 17, 1965 in Watseka, IL. Mr. Faupel was a Farmer and an active member of the Sheldon Masonic Masons, Danville Consistory, Donovan Farmers CO-OP Elevator Board, Ford Iroquois County Farm Bureau Board, Ditch Commissioner on Beaver 1, Trustee for Beaver Fire District, and Watseka Mutual Insurance Board. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, farming, and his family. Surviving Mr. Faupel is his wife, Linda Faupel of Donovan; one son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Molly Faupel of Donovan; one daughter and son-in-law, Jodee and Darren Bruens of Cissna Park; five grandchildren, Austin and Autumn Bruens of Cissna Park, and Kayde, Kenzie, and Kylee Faupel of Donovan; and several nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by both parents; and one brother, Don Faupel. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 4-8pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Jason was a Heavy Machinery Operator for Nortrak. He enjoyed jeeping, fishing, camping, boating, and most of all his family and friends. Audrey Kimble, 65, of Watseka, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born on July 7, 1950 in Hammond, IN, the daughter of James Styck Sr. and Ruby (Lee) Styck. Audrey married John Kimble on April 10, 1970 in Watseka. He passed August 3, 2015. Mrs. Kimble was a Home maker. She enjoyed reading of all sorts, doing art work, ceramics, and crafting. Surviving Mrs. Kimble is her father, James Styck Sr. of Watseka; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Kathy Styck Jr. of Watseka; two sisters and brother-in-law, Cindy and Randy Trumble of Watseka, and Denise Scherch of Bel Air, Maryland; nieces and nephews, Elaina and Bill Kincade, Jamie and David Adkins, Dustin Styck (Kris Miller), Darcey and Jason Smith, Deanna and Tom Puite, Janessa Styck, Bethany Smith, Tabitha Scherch, and Lori and Don Dodson; and eleven great-nieces and nephews. Louis P. Stein - 976/24/1918 - 6/22/2016
Louis P. Stein, 97, Watseka, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2016, at the Gilman Nursing Home. He was born June 24, 1918, in Ashkum, IL, the son of Carl and Maggie Stein. On January 19, 1946, Louis married the love of his life, Marie Anderson. She passed away on June 9, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his parents and all five siblings: Marie, Heine, Marguerite, Annie and Harold. Mr. Stein is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda (John) Gaines of Watseka; one grandson, Ryan (Megan) Gaines of Minneapolis, MN; and three great-grandchildren, twins Grady and Oliver, and Molly. Ryan and Louis mutually adored one another. Louis had a true passion for cars, and spent nearly 60 years as an auto mechanic, before finally retiring at the spry age of 77. He took a great deal of pride in his cars, and polished them to the point they gleamed. He also possessed a wonderful sense of humor, demonstrated by his prolific joke-telling. When asked about his biggest fear of reaching the age of 100, he often responded, "I will as long as I don't get caught by a jealous husband!" Louis enjoyed the simple things in life, such as having coffee with countless friends, eating fried chicken from KFC and watching the Grand Ole Opry on television. He lived a grand life. While he will be sorely missed by family and friends, he will be reunited with the twinkle in his eyes, Marie, who passed 23 years ago. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Monday, June 27, 2016, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Baier Funeral Home. A one hour visitation will take place prior to services. Pastor Jim Hartkins will officiate. Willard “Poody” Kessinger, 86, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016. He was born on November 6, 1929 in Colfax, Illinois, the son of Frank Kessinger and Laura (Bratcher) Kessinger. Willard married Betty Cahoe on June 26, 1949 in Watseka at the Christian Church. Mr. Kessinger was a Section Laborer for the TPW Railroad for 40 years He enjoyed camping, watching old movies, and doing handy man work. Surviving Mr. Kessinger is his wife, Betty Kessinger of Wateka; four daughters and son-in-law’s, Sharry and Paul Davis of Watseka, Kathy Kessinger of Watseka, Nancy and William Kreznor of Woodstock, IL, and Debbie Pocica of Melrose Park, IL; one brother and sister-in-law, Linard and Mini Kessinger of Watseka; nine grandchildren, Tommy Kusman, David Kusman, James Jones, Philip Kreznor, Abigail Kreznor, Donald Davis, Zachary, Max, Tessa, William, and Zoe Pocica; two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Cruiz; and several nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Glen Kessinger; and five sisters, Glenna Matthews, Hazel Bratcher, Alice Leonard, Londa Frohling, and Lola Schultz. Dustin Pattenaude, 36, of Woodland, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. He was born on November 18, 1979 in Clearfield, Penn., the son of Alfred Pattenaude and Sandra (Luzier) Pattenaude. Dustin was a Production Supervisor at CNH in Goodfield, IL. He enjoyed motorcycles, remote control cars, music, camping, and fishing. Surviving Mr. Pattenaude are his parents, Alfred and Sandra Pattenaude of Woodland; two sons, Gavin and Austin Pattenaude of Woodland; two brothers and sister-in-law, Rustin and April Pattenaude of Marquette Heights, IL, and Kenneth Faught of Kenosha, WI; and three nieces and nephews, Tyler Pattenaude, Sierra Nolan, and Kenzee Masters. He is also preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents; and three Uncles, David Pattenaude, Charlie Luzier, and Dale Irwin. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Jerry was born October 30, 1945 in Watseka, IL the son of Arthur P. and Ruth Louise (Davis) Allhands. He married his wife of over 43 years, Susan L. Elliott, December 22, 1972 in Watseka, IL. Survivors include his wife: Susan L. Allhands, Watseka, IL; 2 sons: Neil Allhands, Mable Hill , MO and David L. (fiancé: Lyndsay Mabbitt) Allhands, Clinton, IL; 2 granddaughters: Whitney Goza and Alexis Allhands; sisters: Sherry (John) Farris, Cissna Park, IL, Carol Lewis, Salem, VA, and Linda Burns, Pontiac, IL along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service as Senior Chief, serving during Vietnam and then in Naval Reserves. After 23 years Jerry retired as a technician for the U.S. Soil and Water Conservation Office. Also he was an Educator and Riding Course Instructor for the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Jerry enjoy traveling and riding motorcycles. Along with his wife, they had traveled on their motorcycle to all 48 continental states and some parts of Canada.

Marilyn married Wake Herriman on July 28, 1950 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Mrs. Herriman worked as an office manager for Wayne Pump Company for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading and was a member of the Stockland Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Herriman is her brother and sister-in-law, John and Beverly Nolin of Sheldon, IL; one sister, Dorothy Truby of Watseka; three nieces; four great-nieces; and one great-great-nephew. She is also preceded in death by both her parents; husband, Wake; and one sister, Jonelle.
