Irol L. Buswell, 90, of Watseka, Illinois passed on Saturday, June 4, 2016. He was born on May 14, 1926 in Beaverville Township, the son of Delmar Buswell and Vera Whaley. Mr. Buswell was a carpenter. He was a member of the VFW and is a World War II Marine Corp veteran, and he enjoyed card playing and woodworking. Surviving Mr. Buswell are his sons and daughter-in-laws, Marc and Sherry Buswell of Rewey, Wisconsin & Scot and Janet Buswell of Mokena, Illinois; sister-in-law: Bernadine Buswell of Watseka; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents; two sons, Steven and Terry Buswell; two brothers, Ralph and Charles Buswell; and one sister, Anna Laura Wiltfang. Private burial will be at a later date. Cremation rites have been made accordingly. Memorials in Mr. Buswell's name may be made to St. Jude’s or Donor’s Choice.

Ronald F. Kottke, 70, of Papineau, IL, passed away on May 31, 2016 at his home. He was born on May 15, 1946 in Paxton, Illinois, the son of Edward Kottke and Orilla (Zabel) Kottke. Ronald married Trudy Watts on January 16, 1986 in Watseka. Mr. Kottke served in the ARMY for two years during Vietnam. He was a member of the Aroma Park American Legion. Ronald worked Construction in the Kankakee area. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, the CUBS, NASCAR, and his dogs. Surviving Mr. Kottke is his wife, Trudy Kottke of Papineau, IL; one son, Jason Kottke of Watseka; three daughters and son-in-law, Tonia Kottke of Watseka, Shannon (Kelly) Rogers of Watseka, and Teresa Keefer of Marion, IN; one sister and brother-in-law, Arlis and Lonnie Johnson of Montrose, MN; grandchildren, Tasha Laird, Alivia Norrgran, Ashley Ulitzsch, Mercedes Sullivan, Dustin Houser, Tonia Keefer, Adrianna Richardson, Brittany Williams, and Brianna Williams; great-grandchildren, Jordan Kraay, Blayden Houser, Addison Williams, Adalynn Ulitzsch, and Arianna Ulitzsch; several nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by both parents; and two brothers, Marvin Kottke and Raymond Kottke. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 4-8pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Rosa Lee Fegett, 71, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away on May 29, 2016 at her home. She was born on June 19, 1944 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Rosetta (Meeker) Louis. Mrs. Fegett worked as a CNA at Watseka Health Care for 33 years. She enjoyed reading books, fishing, camping, traveling, watching movies, and riding motorcycles. Surviving Mrs. Fegett is her significant other, Terry Schroeder of Milford, IL; two sons and daughter-in-law, George and Patty Wright of Ellington, MO, and Richard Wright of Hoopeston, IL; one daughter, Debra Torres of Danville, IL; one sister, Marie Fouse of Hoopeston, IL; six grandchildren, Jeremy Higgs, Jessica Barnes, Brandon Wright, Heaven Callahan, Destynee Callahan, and Clarence Callahan IV; eight great-grandchildren, Phoebe Higgs, Jasmine Higgs, Nicholas Barnes, Alexander Barnes, Kaylee Wright, Deante Callahan, Damya Mables, and Kailin Tompkins. Barbara M. Arseneau - 656/16/1950 - 5/21/2016
Barbara M. Arseneau, 65, of Beaverville, Illinois, passed away on May 21st after a courageous three year battle with cancer. A life-long resident of Beaverville, she was born on June 16, 1950, the daughter of Lorraine (Dolly) and Morris Arseneau. Barbara was a graduate of Donovan High School and Marycrest Business College. In 1970, she married Daniel Arseneau. They are the parents of one son, Cameron Daniel. Barbara was a homemaker who enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother with Cameron and supporting him in his activities as he grew older. After Cam was in high school, she worked as a Patient Support Specialist for the organization that is now Presence St. Mary’s Center for Diagnostic Imaging in Bourbonnais. She retired in 2015, looking forward to traveling with Danny in their fifth wheel, working in her garden, and enjoying her sewing and other creative projects. Barbara was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In 1983 she was named St. Mary’s Woman of the Year. Over the years, she served as an officer or a committee member of almost every parish office, including the Council of Catholic Women and the Parish Council. For more than ten years, she served as a Lector. Projects which were especially important to her were the preservation and restoration of the church, editing the St. Mary’s Preservation Newsletter and, with church colleagues, creating the annual Founder’s Day Celebration. When Barbara’s mother, Lorraine Arseneau, died in 1990, Barbara set a precedent by donating the monies which were given in her mother’s memory to the Church Restoration Fund. She is thankful that community generosity has kept “the Cathedral in the Cornfields” viable. Surviving Barbara are her husband, Dan; her son, Cameron and his fiancee, Andrea Kerouac, of Loveland, Colorado; her sister, Diane (Jim) Wiltjer of Pinehurst, NC; her aunts, Marian (Jeanne) Arseneau Barker of Shiloh, NC and Yvonne (Toots) Blanchette Martin of Denver, Colorado; her niece Laurie Manley (Pete) Conaty of Sanford, NC and eight special cousins. Survivors also include her brothers- and sisters-in-law and their families, three nieces and seven nephews: Bob (Judy) Arseneau;Wayne (JoAnne) Arseneau; Karen (Bill) Dowling; Kenneth (Linda) Arseneau; and Loretta (Steve) Moehler. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Lorraine Blanchette Arseneau and Morris Arseneau; her brother, David Nourie, and her niece Leisa Manley Urrutia. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26, at Baier Funeral Home from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Friends and family are invited to share photos and memories during this time. A “Memory Book” will be available. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Beaverville on Friday morning, May 27, at 11:00a.m. Father Dan Belanger, C.S.V. will officiate. Joyce A. Regnier, 82, of Beaverville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016. She was born on March 29, 1934 in Momence, Illinois, the daughter of Levi Rechkemmer and Golda Hildabridle. Joyce married Weldon Regnier in Beaverville, Illinois who passed in March 2002. Mrs. Regnier was a homemaker and lunch lady at Donovan Elementary. She was also a member of the Beaverville Ladies Auxillary and St. Mary’s CCW. Joyce loved to crochet and sew. If you have a crocheted blanket that she made for you, please bring it to show the love she shared with so many. Most courageous of all, Joyce is a 20 year cancer survivor. Surviving Mrs. Regnier is two sons and daughter-in-laws, Perry and Betty Regnier of Beaverville, Illinois and Lee and Dawn Regnier of Buckley, Illinois; one daughter, Mary Jo Wingerter of Beaverville, Illinois; four brothers and sister-in-laws, Levi Rechkemmer Jr. of St. Anne, Illinois; Shirley Rechkemmer of St. Anne; Dennis and Diane Rechkemmer of Rushville, Illinois; Barney and Adeline Rechkemmer of Oakland, Illinois; and Bertie Russell of Donovan, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Mathew Regnier, Christina Regnier, Kayla Regnier, Devin Regnier, Wyatt Wingerter, Jacalyn Wingerter, and Keegan Wingerter; two step grandchildren, Tyler Ecker and Holly Jones; two step-great grandchildren; Cadence and Dalton Jones; and many nieces and nephews. Ora married Geneva Firchau, who has passed on August 16, 1981. Mr. Hausz was an Elevator manager in Bloomington and Flanagan. He was a member of the Watseka Masonic Lodge #446 and a 70 year member of the American Legion. Ora enjoyed fishing, hunting, and biking. She was born on January 6, 1934 in Clarksville, TN, the daughter of Louis Jackson and Barbara (Johnson) Jackson. Margaret worked as a Dietician for IMH in Watseka for over 30 years. She also volunteered for meals on wheels. She enjoyed walking, baking, word search puzzles, reading, and the White Sox. Surviving Mrs. Atkins is one son, Mike Atkins and Mike’s father Bob Atkins of Watseka; one brother, Jesse Jackson of Clarksville, TN; and seven nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by both her parents; one sister, Virginia Walker; one brother, L.T. Jackson; sister-in-law, Barbara Jackson; brother-in-law, Cecil Walker; and one nephew, Richard Walker. He was born on December 12, 1922 in Sheldon, the son of Charles Eighner Sr. and Mabel (Keene) Eighner. Charles married Betty Stilwell on October 6, 1947 in Watseka, IL. Mr. Eighner was an Asphalt Foreman for TriangleConstruction in Kankakee for 40 years. Charles served in the ARMY for 4 years in the 3rd ARMY traveling to North Africa, France, Italy, and Sicily. He was also a member of the VFW Post #7450. He enjoyed watching Westerns, gardening, and oil painting. Surviving Mr. Eighner is his wife, Betty Eighner of Kankakee, formerly Watseka; one son and daughter-in-law, James Allen and Marsha Eighner of Frankfort, IL; one daughter and son-in-law, Jean Irene and David Marone of West Wellington, CT; three grandchildren, Chad Allen (Stacy) Eighner, James Brett (Sheryl) Eighner, and Edward Adam Blomquist; four great-grandchildren, Christopher Eighner, Tyler Eighner, Paige Eighner, and Holly Eighner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale Janssen, 74, of Crescent City, IL, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016. He was born on May 2, 1942 in Watseka, IL, the son of Walter Janssen and Vera (Langenbahn) Janssen. Dale married Cheryl Klann on April 14, 1962. She passed away on May 1, 1998. He later married Beth Stanley on April 10, 1999. She has since passed. Mr. Janssen worked for CIPS – Ameren. He served in the Air Force from 1961 until 1967. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, hunting arrow heads, baseball and other sports. He also enjoyed End of the Trail timber project and volunteered for the Christ Lutheran High School. Surviving Mr. Janssen are two sons and daughter-in-law’s, David and Lisa Janssen of Newark, IL, and Troy and Jenifer Janssen of Buckley; grandchildren, Jacqui and Chad Berenyi, Kyle Janssen, Olivia Janssen, Trenton Janssen, and Connor Janssen; great-grandchildren, Rilynd and Landen Berenyi. Perry married Mabel Hoover in Kentland, IN on June 8, 1957. Mr. Bitzel worked for the Laborer Union for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, mowing, doing yard work, playing cards, and watching politics.
