Charlene Weidert - 82
Charlene Weidert, 82, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
She was born on August 23, 1934 in Beecher, IL, the daughter of Carl Pries and Evelyn (Donaldson) Pries.
Charlene married Glenn Weidert on March 21, 1959 at the First Christian Church that was once located in Watseka, IL.
Mrs. Weidert was a Mary Kay Consultant for over 25 years. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Mary Kay, as well as a board member for Watseka Mutual Insurance Co. She enjoyed crafting, flowers, antiques, baking and collecting dolls. Her true passion was in painting.
Surviving Mrs. Weidert is her husband, Glenn Weidert of Watseka; son and daughter-in-law, John and Pam Weidert of Pensacola, FL; daughters and son-in-law, Christine and Daniel Pelletier of San Francisco, CA, and Kim Pelletier of Laval, Quebec, Canada; brothers and sister-in-law, Junior Smith of Gilman, and Ronald and Kathy Smith of Watseka; sisters and brother-in-law, Marie Dean of Kankakee, Joyce Landry of Fort Smith, AR, Nita and Bill Barnett of Gans, OK, and Janice Brackman of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren, Brittany Girr, Lauren Hamilton, Nathan Pelletier, Janna Weidert, Hope Valencia, Kenna Weidert, and Mandi Weidert; great-grandchildren, Clara Girr and two on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Norman Smith and Charles Pries; one son-in-law, Paul Pelletier; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 4 to 7 pm, at Baier Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:30 am, at Baier Funeral Home. A one hour visitation will be held prior to services Pastor Scott Paisley will officiate.
Burial will follow at Iroquois Memorial Park Cemetery in Watseka, IL.

Robert Delahr Sr. - 87
Robert Delahr Sr., 87, of Watseka passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017.
He was born on June 6, 1929 in Watseka, IL, the son of Alfred Delahr and Margaretha (Thalman) Delahr.
Robert worked as a farmer. He enjoyed watching t.v.
Surviving Mr. Delahr are two sons, Robert Delahr Jr. of Hoopeston, and David Delahr of Kankakee, IL; one daughter, Denise Santoyo of Watseka; one sister-in-law, Carol Delahr of Watseka; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Marvin Sr. and Donald.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm, at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mildred V. Brutlag - 96
Mildred V. Brutlag, 96, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Urbana, IL. She was born on Sunday, August 15, 1920 in Crescent Township, IL, the daughter of Walter & Emily (Hopmann) Scheiwe. Mildred married John Brutlag on March 9, 1940, who has since passed. Mildred was a homemaker, housekeeper, and also worked for the Crystal Foods Spice Plant. She considered her faith and her family top priorities in life. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide, and Lutheran Women Missionary League. Mildred was an excellent cook, seamstress, and a great listener. She was also an avid card player. Surviving Mrs. Brutlag are her sons and daughters-in-law, Dale (Karon) Brutlag, Dave (Rita) Brutlag, & Joel (Carolyn) Brutlag; daughters and son-in-law, June Harvey & Kathy (Mike) McKinney; sisters and brother-in-law, Velma (Allen) Carley & Marian Taden; nineteen grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two great grandchildren, Marissa Brutlag & Addison Brutlag. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Baier Funeral Home from 4-7pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Woodworth, IL. A one hour visitation will be held prior to services. Pastor Matthew Montgomery will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Woodworth, IL. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for memorial contributions to be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Donor’s Choice.
John David Hoover - 47
John David Hoover, 47, of Watseka passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Gilman Healthcare.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Sprehe; half-brother, Bruce Herbst of Fowler, IN.; as well as numerous family, friends, and co-workers that all cherished him.
John is also preceded in death by his father, Welcom Hoover; Uncle, Bill Hoover; paternal grandparents, Rolla and Fannie Hoover; maternal grandparents, Albert and Myrtle Schroeder; step-father, Melvin “Jeep” Sprehe; and cousin, Paige Bruner.
John was born on May 6, 1969 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, the son of Margaret (Schroeder) Sprehe and Welcom Hoover.
Mr. Hoover enjoyed socializing, helping others, doing yardwork, and being around animals. John was employed with Electron Beam Technologies for thirteen years, as a fork lift operator.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm, at Baier Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 am, at Baier Funeral Home. A one hour visitation will be held prior to services. Pastor Joseph Hughes will officiate.

Melvin Allen - 93
Melvin L. Allen, 93, of Woodland, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
He was born on August 6, 1923 in Milford at home, the son of Bea and Minnie Pearl (Thomas) Allen.
Mr. Allen married Helen Marsh on July 5, 1946.
Melvin served in the ARMY for 4 years and was stationed in Alaska during his time. He was a printer for the Commercial News in Danville, and a hobbyist farmer. He also enjoyed gardening, farming, fishing, and horses.
Surviving Mr. Allen are two sons and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rosie Allen of Woodland, and Terry Allen of Sheldon; one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Fred Hill of Danville, IL; one sister-in-law, Annetta Allen of Watseka; six grandchildren, Jami Harris and Amy Allen, Danielle Bowman, Melinda LePetre, Nick and Jake Hill; two step-grandchildren, Kevin and Larry Hill; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchild; special dog, Jake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by both parents; wife, Helen; one brother, Harold “Shorty”; and one sister, Evelyn.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 11am until 1pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

Joyce Heideman - 72
Joyce Ann Heideman, 72, of Watseka, IL, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017.
She was born on January 26, 1945 in Kankakee, IL, the daughter of Robert Kibbons and Betty Jane (Freeman) Kibbons.
Joyce married Marion Heideman on December 28, 1963 in Kankakee, IL at the Methodist Church.
Joyce first and foremost had the most important job that any woman could have, she was a mother. A great mother at that, to all of her children. She would always going above and beyond for everyone at any given time. She also worked at WalMart for a number of years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving Mrs. Heideman is her husband, Marion Heideman of Watseka, IL; two sons and daughter-in-law’s, Ted and Natasha Heideman of Watseka, and Neil and Krista Heideman of Las Cruces, NM; two daughters and son-in-law, Dawn Heideman of Naperville, IL, and Kim Heideman and Anthony Leiber of Highlands Ranch, CO; two sisters, Bonnie Cramer of Hoopeston, and Pat Bukowski of Momence; ten grandchildren, Kaylea, Jenna, Karrie, Andrew, Roman, Jaimie, Terra, Sophia, Morgandy, and Kailani; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by both parents; and four brothers, Terry, Robert, Dennis, and Thomas Kibbons.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 8am until 11 am, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

St. Anne, Illinois
Alicia Weber, 36, of St. Anne, IL, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at her home.
She was born on January 9, 1981 in Watseka, Illinois, the daughter of Mary (Lade) Hull.
Alicia was a stay at home mom, who enjoyed being outdoors.
Surviving Ms. Weber is one son, Kevin Weber of St. Anne; three daughters, Crystal Cain of Momence, Jazzlen Cain of Momence, and Elizabeth Weber of St. Anne; mother, Mary Hull of Watseka; three brothers and sister-in-law, Tony and Kristina Hull of Fleming Island, FL, Barry Hull of Watseka, and Robert Hull of Chicago; three sisters, Robin Hull of Watseka, Jeanette Hull of Sheldon, and Shelly Hebert of Sheldon; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; and two uncles, Leroy Lade and Dale Lade.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 2-4pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

Norma G. Elliott - 86
Norma Genevive Elliott, 86, widow of Cecil A Elliott, died peacefully Sunday, February 5, 2017, in Spartanburg SC surrounded by her family. She was born on October 27, 1930, in Onarga IL, the daughter of James and Sadie Hoel Rohr. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons, Stan Elliott (Jeanne), Robert (Bob) Elliott (Donna), William (Joe) Elliott (Marcia), and Richard (Rick) Elliott (Robin); grandchildren Tammy Bajurin, Jamie Elliott, Todd Elliott, Tina Wade, Tricia DeHart, Amy O’Keefe, Cindy Gibson, Nate Elliott, Cassie Anderson, and Drew Elliott, in addition to 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. One brother, Ken Rohr survives in Chebanse, IL.
In addition to her parents and husband, preceding her in death was her first husband, James M. Elliott, son Cecil K. Elliott, and his wife, Deanna Elliott; sisters Marjorie Rohr, Dorothy Rohr Sherman, brothers Butch Rohr, Del Rohr and Donnie Rohr.
Norma and Cecil Elliott were longtime business owners in Watseka area over the span of 30 plus years.
Private services will be held in Watseka, IL. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetary in Watseka IL.

Ruby Allene Summers, 79, of Gilman, IL; previously of Hoopeston, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
She was born on June 14, 1937 in Edmunton, KY, the daughter of Ernest Froedge and Ordria (Phelps) Froedge.
Ruby married Douglas Lee Summers on April 26, 1957 in Danville, IL. He has since passed.
Mrs. Summers worked at the Hoopeston Hospital in the Dietary Dept. for 25 years. She enjoyed watching tv, puzzles, reading, and fishing.
Surviving Mrs. Summers are two sons and daughter-in-law’s, Robert and Sheila Summers of Gilman, and Carl and Myrna Summers of Ottawa, IL; one sister, Lulu Louis of Hoopeston, IL; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Michael, Steve, Cory, Casey, Bobbi, Ryan, and Joshua; two step-grandchildren, Brian and Bonnie; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by both parents; husband, Douglas Summers; one sister; and one son, James Summers.

Karry "Mama Karry" Gray - 55
Karry Gray “Mama Karry”, 55, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017.
She was born on June 17, 1961 in Watseka, the daughter of Carl “Jolly” Gray and Wilma (Walters) Walters.
Mama Karry was a waitress for Topper for many years. She was an active member of the Miller High Life Pool League. She enjoyed playing pool, watching NASCAR, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving Ms. Gray is her son, Tommy Gray of Watseka; daughter and son-in-law, Dustie and Richard Long of Kankakee; mother, Wilma Walters of Onarga; three brothers and sister-in-law’s, Kevin and Paula Gray of Gilman, Chris and Amber Rosenbaum of Nashville, Tenn., and Glenn and Stephanie Gray of Ft. Myer’s, FL; two sisters and brother-in-law, Stacey and Brad Ward of Onarga, and Kelly Schmidt of Rantoul; five grandchildren, Bradley Galarza, Christian, Noah, Savannah, and Madison Long; and man nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her father, “Jolly” Gray; step-father Pete Walters; and lifelong partner, Tom Andrews.
