Deborah Ann Johnson, age 53 of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital.  She was born on April 7, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Netzband and Judith Johnson. 

Surviving Mrs. Johnson are her Fiance Larry "Butch" Harer of Watseka; her children, Julie Juarez of Joliet, Rebecca  Juarez and Fiance Edwin Santiago of Joliet; step-daughter Jamie Harer of Watseka; brothers, Dominic Prate of Maryland and Thomas Netzband of California; sisters, Shirley Poplawski of Watseka and Barbara Netzband of Willowbrook; grandchildren, Brianna, Lilyanah, Amara, Elijah, Delilah, Maylinah, Isaiah, and Noah; God children, Raychell Ward, Wilde Vermillion, and Bobby Netzband; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven Juarez Jr, granddaughter Alajandra and Celia Juarez, brother, Robert Netzband. 

Mrs. Johnson enjoyed watching TV and gambling. 

Visitation for Mrs. Johnson will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Interment is private.

Rose Ann Buck - 93

 Rose Ann Buck, 93, of Watseka, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

She was born on November 27, 1924 in Ojibwa, WI, the daughter of Adam Kraft and Rose (Brown) Kraft.

Rose Ann married Warren Buck on November 27, 1943 in Schwer, IL.

Mrs. Buck helped farm with her husband. She also worked for Condenser and TRW for 10 years before starting up and owning a school bus company for Unit 9 Schools for 24 years. Rose Ann enjoyed gardening and traveling. She enjoyed traveling so much so that she had visited all 50 states.

Surviving Mrs. Buck are her daughters, Susan (Jack) Zimmerman of Baltimore, MD, and Gloria (Jeanie) Kalhust of West Lafayette, IN; sister, Gladys Beers of Webster, WI; grandchildren, Timothy Mathis, Pamela Piper, Eric Kalhust, Amy White, and Shannon Lange; great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashley, Jacob, Kaleb, Gavin, Julia, and Aiden; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; daughter, Patricia Buck; two brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 4-7pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 am, at Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka. A one-hour visitation will take place prior to services. Pastor Jordan Cooper will officiate.

Burial will follow at Prairie Dell Cemetery in Iroquois, IL.

Richard (Dick) J. Crawford - 82

Richard (Dick) J. Crawford, age 82, of Palm Coast, Florida formerly of Watseka, Illinois passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his home in Florida. 

He was born August 20, 1935 in Onarga, Illinois, the son of William and Eleanor (Strawn) Crawford.

Dick served in the US Army signal core in his younger years and later worked at UARCO, Standard Register before retiring.  He was an active member of Centennial Christian Church, serving as a board member, elder and Sunday school teacher.   He was a proud member of the Gilman American Legion Post 499 where he also served as Chaplin and was big on supporting Veteran programs or events.

Dick enjoyed fishing, radio control and flying model airplanes, reading, firearms, the outdoors and tinkering in his garage.   He was a skilled carpenter and loved to work with wood.

Surviving Dick are Todd (Lisa) Crawford of Palm Coast, FL; Mike (Shirley) Crawford of Lakeland, FL; Tim (Elizabeth) Crawford of Porter, TX; and wife of the late Marvin Crawford, Tami Crawford of Hoopeston, IL;  John Kent of Woodland, IL; Judy Ziebart of Harper’s Ferry, WV; Penny Hasselbring of Watseka, IL; and Peggy Jaskula of Milford, IL.   Brothers – Allan Crawford of Greensboro, NC and John Crawford of Attica, IN.   Sisters -Jo Ann Ledbetter of Springfield, MO and Barbara Waytt of Springfield, MO; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is also proceeded in death by his parents, son Marvin Crawford; brothers William Gordon Crawford and Harry David Crawford; sisters, Eunice Joyce Perdue, Donna White, Nancy Chartier and Grace Eleanor. 

Visitation will take place on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Centennial Christian Church in Watseka, IL.  Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am at the Centennial Christian Church in Watseka.    Pastor Joseph Hughes officiating.  Burial with military rites will follow at the Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, Illinois.   Memorials can be made to the family’s wishes.

Christopher Daniel McCullough, 42

Of Crescent City, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018.

                He was born on April 9, 1975, in Watseka, the son of Daniel and Ellen McCullough of Watseka, IL.

                Surviving Mr. McCullough are his children, Kayla and Allison McCullough of Clifton and Jacqueline McCullough of Watseka; his parents, Daniel and Ellen McCullough of Watseka; two sisters, Amy (Dennis) Hofbauer of Mahomet, Bobbi (Daniel) Stichnoth of Stockland.  Also surviving are his Paternal Grandparents Robert & Shirley McCullough of Watseka and his Maternal Grandfather Vernon E. Brault of Martinton; four nieces and nephews, Alexis and Gage Vogel of Stockland, and Hannah and Arthur Hofbauer of Mahomet; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mr. McCullough graduated from Watseka High School in 1993.  He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, other outdoor activities and was efficient in electronics designing websites and working farming machinery and automobiles.  He worked as a Supervisor at Incobrasa Industries for many years in which he was rewarded for many friends and close co-workers there.  Although very shy and timid, he had a way of lighting up any area that he was present.  Friends were very important to Christopher and he was always there for them.

                He was preceded in death by his Maternal grandmother, Donna Brault and one aunt, Brenda (McCullough) Haven and a Great Uncle, Artie Bratcher.

                Visitation for Mr. McCullough will be held from 2-6pm on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:00 am.  A one hour visitation will take place prior to services. Pastor Chauncey Lattimer will officiate.

 Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka, Illinois.

 Mary "Donna" Trudeau, 92, of Watseka, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.

She was born on July 10, 1925 in Varna, IL, the daughter of John Saxton and Mary (Wheat) Saxton.

Mary married Paul Trudeau on September 14, 1946 in Watseka, IL.

Mrs. Trudeau was a farm wife, homemaker and a CNA. She was also a member of the Fun Club, Card Club, and Trinity Church. She enjoyed reading, Wii bowling, and word puzzles. Most of all she loved cheering her grandkids and great grandson on at their sporting events.

Surviving Mrs. Trudeau is her sons and daughter-in-law's, Larry and Kristine Trudeau of Villa Grove, IL, Jack and Gayle Trudeau of Watseka, and Kevin and Debra Trudeau of Evansville, IN; sister-in-law, Lorena Saxton of Colchester, IL; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; brother, Floyd Saxton; four sisters, Thelma Watson, Deena Studzinski, Dorothy Lareau, and Irma Rice; and grandson, Dustin Trudeau.

A Gathering of Friends will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 10-11 am, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.

Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 am, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Pastor Bart Koester will officiate.

Burial will follow at Lyman Cemetery in Watseka, IL.

Robert DeMik, 83, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 25, 1934 in Wichert, IL, the son of John DeMik Sr. and Lenah (Ritzma) DeMik. Robert married Mary Howard on March 28, 1959 in Kankakee, IL. Mr. DeMik worked for the Ford Motor Company for 30 years, specifically loading cars. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and treasure hunting with his metal detector. Surviving Mr. DeMik is his wife, Mary DeMik of Watseka; son and daughter-in-law, David and Laura DeMik of Sheridan, IL; daughters and son-in-law’s, Diane and Jay Regnier of Sugar Hill, GA, and Becky and Kevin Roberts of Beaverville, IL; brother and sister-in-law, John and Jean DeMik of St. Anne, IL; grandchildren, Shylah Regnier of Sugar Hill, GA, Cabrie (Ian) Forgey of Stafford, VA, Sawyer (Jessica) Regnier of Sugar Hill, GA, and Quinn (Ryan) Nicholson of St. Anne, IL; great-grandchildren, Jaden Russell, Austin Forgey, Wesley Forgey, Gracyn Nicholson, and Harper Regnier; and several nieces and nephews. Robert Walter Pawelczak, 58, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018. He was born on September 22, 1959 in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter Pawelczak and Theresa Canaski. Robert married Kimberly Hippner on May 29, 1982 in New Lenox, IL. Mr. Pawelczak was a Shop Foreman for the State of Illinois and a member of the Woodland Fire Protection District for over 15 years. He enjoyed golfing and hanging out with family and friends. Surviving Mr. Pawelczak is his wife, Kimberly Pawelczak of Watseka; sons, Christopher Pawelczak of Watseka, Robert Pawelczak of Watseka, and Scott Pawelczak of Watseka; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Judy Pawelczak of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters, Paulette Boicken of Dyer, IN, and Susan and Jim Hasler of Lockport, IL; grandchild, Chloe Pawelczak; and many nieces and nephews. Audrey Grant Peters, 94, of Watseka, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Iroquois Resident Home, Watseka, IL. She was born April 9, 1923 in Morocco, Indiana, the daughter of Grover and Ruby (McComb) Potts. She graduated from Morocco High School. Audrey married Leslie Grant on May 8, 1942 at Kentland, Indiana. They were married 70 years and farmed in the Donovan area for 67 years. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2012. Audrey was a member of the Donovan United Methodist Church Mrs. Grant Peters is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Gloria Grant of Donovan; two granddaughters, Jennifer Haberkorn (Jerry) of Highlands Ranch, CO and Melissa Allen (Stan) of Sherman, IL; four great grandchildren, Kenzie and Teagan Haberkorn and Avery and Grant Allen; and several nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by one son, Milo Grant; second husband, Richard Peters; parents; two brothers; and one sister. Visitation will be at 10 a.m, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 12, at the Donovan United Methodist Church. Pastor Kevin Nourie will officiate. Burial will follow at the Beaver Cemetery in Donovan, IL. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or Donovan United Methodist Church.
