Mary Kottke, 70, of Watseka, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015. She was born on July 16, 1945 in Watseka, IL, the daughter of Walter Faupel and Leona (Shay) Faupel. Mary married Marvin Kottke on July 21, 1966 in Illinois. He passed in 2001. Mrs. Kottke was a home maker. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing Yahtzee, and doing crosswords. Surviving Mrs. Kottke is one son, Merle Kottke of Woodland; one daughter, Regena Kottke of Watseka; two stepsons, Kenneth and Paula Kottke of FL, and Jeff Kottke of WI; two stepdaughters, Darlene and Rich Noennig of TN, and Jay and Dave Hutchinson of FL; one brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Kimble of Granger, IN; three sisters and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Larry Deitch of AZ, Sandra Ray of CA, and Kris Ray of Southbend, IN; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both parents; Husband, Marvin Kottke; and two brothers, John(Jack) Turpin and Kenny Turpin. Michael “Wheels” Wielert, 56, of Watseka, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his home. He was born on January 4, 1959 in Watseka, IL, the son of William Wielert and Mary (Hamilton) Wielert. Mr. Wielert married Patricia Molter on April 22, 1978 at St. Joseph’s Church in Kentland, IN. Michael was a farmer and also worked for the County Highway Department, as well as a former member of the Watseka Fire Department. He enjoyed farming, friends, and socializing. Surviving Mr. Wielert is his wife, Patricia “Patty” Wielert of Watseka, IL; two sons, William Wielert of Watseka, Jonathan Wielert and fiancée Jessica Paro of Sheldon; one daughter and son-in-law, Valorie and Lance Kimbrell of Nesbit, Mississippi; five grandchildren: Aiden Wielert, Ian Wielert, Allison Kimbrell, Sarah Kimbrell, and Brianna Kimbrell; two brothers and sister-in-laws, Allen and Sharon Wielert of Watseka, James and Teresa Wielert of Warrensburg, Missouri; two sisters, Pam Boswell of Cleveland, Mississippi, Linda Sharper of Limestone, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kent worked at Uarco for 20 years and was also a school cook. She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, and babysitting. Surviving Mrs. Rose Kent is one son, John Kent of Woodland; three daughters and son-in-laws, Judy and Rick Ziebart of Harpers Ferry, WV, Peggy and Joe Jaskula of Milford, and Penny Hasselbring of Watseka; one brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Gertrude Pate of Hoopeston; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Dale Livingston of Hoopeston; thirteen grandchildren, Julie Feller, Tracy Heitmann, Kevin Ziebart, Ricci Dews, Nina Surber, Georgia Woodby, Stephanie White, Joe Jaskula, Eric Jaskula, Adam Jaskula, Rachael Jaskula, Kurtis Hasselbring, and Karlie Brown; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Donald Pate and John Pate; and one grandson, Matthew Ziebart. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Alder, three children, Vicki (Mark) Garfield, James (Nancy) Alder Jr., Valorie (Terry) Walwer, ten grandchildren, Melissa McGary (Josh DeLahr), Chris (Tonia) Walwer, Nathan (Britany) Walwer, Chad (Crystal) Walwer, Michael McGary, Alicia (Matt) Wilkins, Katelin Garfield, Joseph Walwer (Lexi Shoemaker), Lucas Alder (Brooke McCain), and Alex Alder, eleven great-grandchildren, Cooper DeLahr, Baylie Walwer, Chasine Walwer, Jax Walwer, Kasen Walwer, Zacary Walwer, Haley Walwer, Keirstin Wilkins, Allison Wilkins, Brennah Wilkins, and Ethan Wilkins. Also surviving are three sisters, one brother, and seven sister-in-laws, and four brother-in-laws: Sandra San Antonio, Georgia (Robert) Hubert, Karen Hopper, Michael Alder, Carol Alder, Judy Alder, Shirley (Knick) Knickerbocker, Lucille Themer, Mary Price, Helen Peck, Kendall Lamb, Bobby (Lisa) Themer, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dearly loved friend Bubba. He is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roger Alder and Ricky Alder, and two sisters Dorine Lamb and Diane Alder. Mr. Alder worked at Ropers, ECC, Baker & Taylor, Norm Chase Farm, and Felesena Construction. He was an elder of Centennial Christian Church. He loved doing many family activities such as bowling, camping, fishing, playing ball, Sunday rides in the country, yard work, and spending the afternoon at the park feeding the ducks with his grandchildren. Mrs. Keller was an LPN, as well as owner and operator of Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Sheldon, IL. She enjoyed Tole painting, gardening, and shopping. Surviving Mrs. Keller is one son and daughter-in-law, Mike (Anita) Keller of Sheldon; three daughters and son-in-laws, Kathy (Don) Lindsey of Greenfield, IN, Kim (Jeff) Mabbitt of Sheldon, Candy Keller of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren, Kris Butler of Sheldon, Brian Butler of Kansas City, MO, Matt Lindsey of New Buffalo, MI, Kristi Yamaoka of Greenfield, IN, Erin Yamaoka of Uganda, Africa, Ashley Clemmons and Donnie Mabbitt of Sheldon, Ethan (Gunnar) Keller of Watseka, Whitney Keller of Ofallon, IL, and Lindsey Keller of Colorado Springs, CO; great-grandchildren, Kristin and Kristopher Butler of Sheldon, Viola Clemmons of Sheldon, and Jessica and Jeremy Butler of Kansas City, MO; and nephew, Jack (Mary) Kohl of Watseka. Eric "Rick" Reder, 70, of Antioch, Illinois, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while traveling back to Illinois from a family function in Colorado on September 15, 2015. He was born in Watseka, Illinois on April 20, 1945 to August and Gertrude Reder. Rick was a loving brother, uncle and friend. In his youth he was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, but anybody who was familiar with Rick knew his greatest love was fishing. Recently he was involved in a program in which he took wounded veterans out on his boat for a day of fishing. Rick retired as a machinist in 2011. Rick is survived by his brothers Paul (Linde) Reder of Falcon, Colorado; Phillip (Mary) Reder of Penrose, Colorado; and Kurt (Martie) Reder of Deer Trail, Colorado; nephews Kyle Reder of Brighton, Colorado and Justis Reder of Falcon, Colorado; niece Kayla (Jason) Wilton of Parker, Colorado; and aunts Elsie Reder and Leona Vitous of Watseka, Illinois; Marie Fischer of Clearwater, Florida; cousins Lois Ann Thomas of Farmverville, Louisiana; Robert Fischer of Corpus Christi, Texas; Patricia Ellingham of Clearwater, Florida; and Greg (Cathy) Vitous of Kentland Indiana; and nine second and third cousins. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, August and Gertrude Reder, sister Jeanne Reder-Pasetta, cousin Phyllis Reder, uncles Robert Fischer and Fritz Reder, and aunt Ella Case. Rick's sudden passing is a great loss to all and he will be deeply missed. Robert Joseph Deaton, 81, of Piper City, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015. He was born on October 4, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Joseph Deaton and Helen (Shipp) Deaton. Mr. Deaton married Cecelia Tregoning in Ohio on September 26, 1988. She preceded him in passing on October 14, 2008. Robert served three years in the ARMY and was a newspaper delivery man for the Kankakee Daily Journal. He enjoyed grandkids and anything to do with working with his hands. Surviving Mr. Deaton are two sons, Robert Joseph Deaton Jr. and Joseph Deaton; nine daughters, Lynn, Helena, Margaret, Jennifer (Steve) Hornbrook of Paris, IL, Melody Smith of KoKomo, IN, Kimberlee (Chip) Bahler of Rensselaer, IN, Dawn Delaney of Escondido, CA, Theresa Ann Smith of Danforth, IL, and Erin Legner of Bloomington, IL; two brothers, Tom Deaton of Milwaukee, WI, and Jerry Harmen; sixteen grandchildren, Steven II, Brandon, Benjamin, Michelle, Ashley, James, Danny, Brandon, Samantha, Joshua, Jared, Jeramiah, Jeremey, Dalton, Mercedes, and Hailee; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was born on March 4, 1929 in Casey, Il, the daughter of Ivan Carpenter and Lydia (Cochanour) Carpenter. Marjorie married James R. Washburn on July 20, 1948. He passed on October 5, 1982. Mrs. Washburn was a receptionist at Illinois Bell for 10 years and a dispatcher for AT&T for 10 years. She was also a member of the Lady’s Auxiliary VFW in Watseka. She enjoyed cross stitching and baking. Surviving Mrs. Washburn is one son and daughter-in-law, James and Lynn Washburn of Taylor Springs, IL; one grandchild, Ken Kellerman of Decatur, Il; three great-grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by both parents; husband, James Washburn; and two sisters, Judy and Rosemary. Carl McCarty Berg, 23, of Kentland, IN formerly of Cissna Park, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015. He was born on September 6, 1991 in Danville, IL, the son of Glenn Berg and Linda (McCarty) Berg. Mr. Berg worked as a farmer for McCarty Family Farms, worked with INTX - Biological Fertilizer Company in Kentland, IN and was a Laborer for Yates Construction. He played MCP Football, was a member of the Fountain Creek 4-H and showed cattle at Iroquois County Fair, and a member of Cissna Park FFA. Carl enjoyed fishing, chopping firewood, and golfing. He was a big BEARS, Boilers and CUBS fan. Most of all he enjoyed farming with his brothers and his grandpa, as well as grandma Pat’s cooking. Most recently he became a Member of the Local #274 Lafayette, IN. Surviving Mr. Carl Berg are his parents, Glenn and Linda Berg of Cissna Park, IL; four brothers and sister-in-laws, Michael and Melissa Blanding of Wolcott, IN, Mark and Jennifer Blanding of Brook, IN, Nye Berg of Cissna Park, and Tyler Blanding of Cissna Park; four nieces and nephews, Kylie Blanding, Michaela Blanding, Trenton Blanding, and Evan Blanding; maternal grandparents, Delbert and Patricia McCarty of Kentland, IN; three aunts, Karen (John) Dolan, Susan McCarty, Sandra (Bob) Bevill; one uncle, Bob Berg; and nine cousins. Donna was a secretary at FS in Beaverville for 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, and canning. She was also active in 4-H in her younger years. Surviving Ms. Schoonveld are three sons and daughter-in-law, Steven and Lisa Eilers of Brook, IN, Scott Eilers of Iroquois, Eric and Monica Schoonveld of Indianapolis, IN; two daughters and son-in-law, Ali Eilers of Cissna Park, Lacy and Bill Buss of Lincoln, IL; father, James Schultz of Iroquois; two brothers and sister-in-law, Brad and Kathy Schultz of Florida, Jim Schultz of Iroquois; one sister, Carol Massey of Kentland, IN; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
