Leonard Dehlin, 87, of Watseka, IL, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016. He was born on January 20, 1929 in Graceville, Minnesota, the son of Alvin Dehlin and Ellen (Hanson) Dehlin. Mr. Dehlin married June Powell on October 29, 1953 in Edina, Minnesota. Leonard was the store owner and retailer of Ben Franklin for seventeen years. He also served in the Navy earning him a Korean Service Medal. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Surviving Mr. Dehlin is his wife, June Dehlin of Watseka; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Maria Dehlin of Bartlet, IL; four daughters and son-in-law’s, Judy and Bill Kinney of Bridgman, MI, Karin and Terry Rasmussen of Louville, KY, Loni Dehlin of Streamwood, IL, and Lori Dehlin of Elgin, IL; four brothers and sister-in-law’s, Glenn and Joyce Dehlin of Mobile, AL, Floyd Dehlin of Rockford, IL, Coleen Dehlin of Ft. Worth, TX, Eugene and Bobbi Dehlin of Sycamore, IL, and Dale and Laurain Dehlin of Mandan, ND; nine grandchildren, Tracy (Robert) Brandenberg, Amanda (Brandon) Thompson, Kacey Rasmussen, Torey Rasmussen, Jami Dehlin, Karli Wenk, Matt Cork, Katianna Dehlin, and Kristina Dehlin; seven great-grandchildren: Anya, Zayden, Noah, Jacob, Lucas, Hannah, and Ava; and many nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd, LaVerne, and Maynard Dehlin; and three sister-in-law’s, Deanna, Mary, and Jane Dehlin. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 1-3pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 3:00 pm, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Pastor John Franklin will officiate. Memorials in Mr. Dehlin's name can be made to the Watseka Food Pantry, Watseka Union Depot, and IMH Hospice. Cremation Rites will be recorded following services.
