Kelly Rogers, 59, of Watseka, IL passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Riverside Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1958, the son of James H. & Eleanor L. (Wood) Rogers in Watseka. Kelly is survived by his 1st wife Vicky Quakenbush of Kankakee, IL. and his 2nd wife Shannon (Kottke) Rogers of Watseka, IL. His son: Michael Rogers of Martinton, IL. Daughter: Ashley Ulitzsch of Crescent City, IL. Sisters: Marietta (Miles) Varboncoeur of Watseka, IL., Leatha (David) Romine of Watseka, IL, Kathy Rogers of Ft. Wayne, IN. Eight Grandchildren: Courtney Dunaway, Brayden Rogers, Ella Mae Rogers, Westin Rogers and Cohen Kelly Rogers (who was named after his Paw-Paw), Adalynn Ulitzsch, Arianna Ulitzsch, and Kassidy Harper. One Uncle Everett Wood of Nicholasville, KY. and One Aunt Clarice (Wood) Farrand of Terre Haute, IN. Nieces: Wanda K. Turnbull, Tasha (Terry) James, Tabitha Rogers, Cassidy Rogers, and Tifanie A. Romine. Nephews: Kirt (Tonya) Rogers, Doug (Isabel) Rogers, Clayton Rogers, Tylor Rogers, and Ryne Romine. Numerous Cousins throughout the area. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Henry & Birdie Rogers, Clarence & Amanda Wood. Brothers: Kenneth W. Rogers, William C. Rogers and James H. Rogers Jr. Aunts: Maxine Williams, Leona Wood, Helena Probasco, and Janice Rogers. Uncles: Herbert Wood, Alf Rogers. Niece: Kandy (Rogers) Peterson and Great Niece: Teresa Rogers. Kelly began working in 1974 at Chicago Steel Tape, Stanley and then Bosch. Kelly worked for 38 years and through much dedication and long hours was promoted to Shipping Manager and held that position until Bosch downsized in 2012. Kelly had an infectious smile and easy going personally and had many friends and was loved and admired by many. Kelly enjoyed people and had many conversations and always joked and kidded around with people. Kelly loved kids & animals and had recently lost his beloved companion Daisy and it broke his heart when he had to give up his beloved cats Smokey & Sophie. He absolutely adored his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy, his reason for living. Family was important to him and many called him Paw Paw as he helped to raise many children. He had a very soft heart and enjoyed helping people. Kelly enjoyed watching NASCAR and hunting for morel mushrooms in his free time. Visitation will be held at Baier Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 4 to 7pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 pm. Pastor Gary Milton will officiate.
